VAM STUDIO

VAM STUDIO is an award winning production company and film collective behind some of the most disruptive narratives, commercials and branded content in culture today. The VAM team is comprised of an unapologetic diverse team of filmmakers working from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and disciplines while standing out on a global scale.

Part of what makes VAM unique is our collective-based approach to art-making. So much of our work derives from community practices, as well as creating a collaborative working environment. Our work is expansive in nature while also grounding the stories of queer people of color front and center. Most of our productions are entirely ran by queer people and people of color, and tonally we have worked in the comedic sphere, the drama space and we’ve also made experimental magical realist pieces of film. We straddle the line between art-house and commercial work in an authentic and community-led way.

Our work has been nominated for Emmys, Webbys, Streamys, and Queerties. Our work has streamed at festivals across the globe, including winning the Bushwick Film Festival Programmer's Choice Award; and our work has also been Vimeo’s staff picks. Our work is expansive, and has been a staple of the Chicago, New York and LA underground scenes for at least ten years.

VAM has worked with commercial brands such as Apple, Nike, Dr. Martens, Redbull, Verano, and Airbnb as well as National and Global Foundations such as MacArthur, Richard Driehaus and AIDS Foundations. VAM has also produced music videos for artists like Jamila Woods, Chance The Rapper, Jidenna, and Esperanza Spalding. VAM's work has been profiled in Vogue, Time Magazine, Elle, Rolling Stone, New York Times, Tribune, Out Magazine, Pitchfork, Paper Magazine, Advocate, and NPR.
